Digital Scrapbooking – 7 Tips for Beginners

So I decided to enter the world of digital scrapbooking? There are several major programs for designing digital Scrapbook pages. Some of the most popular ones are Photoshop, Photoshop Elements and Paint Shop Pro. There are many other programs specifically scrapbooking. If you have recently started digital scrapbooking you may feel completely overwhelmed when you load the program, but do not worry not with a little patience and practice can learn to do digital scrapbooking.

Here are seven tips for digital scrapbooking beginners.

1 – Learn how to cut and resize proportionally. The biggest mistake I've seen with beginners is to change the image size so disproportionate. When crops or changing the size of the photos I do not want your picture to get distorted. Photoshop Tip: Hold down Shift and resize photos and maintain their proportional. Paint Shop Pro Tip: Hold down the ALT key while dragging the corner and keep your image proportion.

2 – Learn to use the Layers palette. Learn to work with layers is the most difficult to learn to digital scrapbook. Start by working on small projects with only a few layers. Practice moving each layer at the front or the rear to get the hang of things. If using Paint Shop Pro, you can click the layer to select it. For some people, Paint Shop Pro is a program easier to start because it is easier select and move the layers around it. If you use Photoshop, you'll have to consider the Layers palette to select the layer you want move. Tip for working with layers: Name your layers. Go to Layer Properties and type a name for the layer to avoid any confusion. For example, if you have a green band name, the layer of green ribbon instead of layer 3. Then copy and paste your photo. Place in the layer just above form. Click Control G to your group two layers. Configuration, then E to merge them. That's it
